The #7 stands 145 cm (57 in) tall and weighs in at 273 kilos (601 lbs). The #7 performs extremely will across the entire cooking temperature range from 110-375°C (220-700F) and it's large thermal mass means that it is extremely efficient and uses very little charcoal once it is "heat soaked". Typically, you can run for over 24 hours on one bag (5 kilos/10 lbs) of charcoal when doing a low and slow!

The #7 comes with special spring loaded props. The compression springs in the prop assist in raising and lowering the lid. They are adjusted at the factory to provide fingertip effort in raising what would otherwise take considerable effort to lift. The lid can be held firmly open by a screw clamp on the side of the prop tube.

Smoke BBQ Grill & Bake

Kamado's reputation for smoking is unsurpassed. Smoking temperatures are considerably lower temperatures (65-100°C/150-200 F range). These temperatures can be easily controlled by adjusting the top damper to approximately ¼ inch (½ spin) and the draft door "cracked".

BBQ temperatures (150°C/300F range) are obtained and controlled by setting the damper top to approximately ½ inch (1 spin) and the draft door "cracked". Cooking time is approximately 1/3 less because of the Kamado's design and the characteristics of ceramics. No rotisserie is ever needed for two reasons: one, the Kamado has the proper form or shape that allows excellent convection or heat circulation i.e. the engineering principle that "round is better than square" and two there retained heat radiated from the thick heavy walls does the cooking equally from above as well as below.

It is imperative for proper Grilling that the cooking vessel obtain high temperatures (200°C/400F and up). The emphasis is the heat in the cooking vessel, not flames. No barbecue in the world will get as hot inside as our Kamado and in many respects it is a "kiln". You can experience searing meat from heat and not flames.

The Kamado is a perfect "wood fired" baking oven for the best pizza's and bread. The heavy ceramic wallsl mirror the old Italian pizza ovens and German bread ovens which always result in flavorful bread and perfect crusts.

Mosaic Tile

The high gloss glazed tile is of the highest quality. There are over 3300 beautiful mosaic tiles on our #7 Kamados. They are unaffected by heat, sun or weather conditions. The tiles' main purpose is durability and aesthetics. Your extra effort in selecting the perfect tile color and grout to match your backyard our patio will reward you every time you look at your Kamado. Especially when gracefully accepting complements.

If you want a completely custom Kamado, please give us a call. We have a very large inventory of tiles and can even use tiles that you send us in order to ensure that the Kamado fits into your outdoor decor!

Use and Care

  • Break the Kamado in accordance to the User Manual
  • Do not scrape the inside of the Kamado as this will erode the ceramic material
  • To clean your Kamado, set the temp to 250°C+ (500F+) for 30 minutes.
  • Empty ashes every 3-4 months, or when they reach the bottom of the draft door.
  • Once the grill is well broken in, seal the tiles with a tile sealer.
  • In harsh climates (heavy snow, ice, freeze/thaw cycles, salt spray) cover the Kamado between uses or place it in a protected area.
  • Oil the top damper and draft door with vegetable oil every few months to help prevent sticking.
